Super Kabuki ‘Shin Sangokushi II’ 2002

A lighting design to simulate a starry sky for the performance of Super Kabuki “Shin Sangokushi Part II”, with leading role performed by Ichikawa Ennosuke. A starry sky is used in many scenes, but area, brightness levels, and the timing of shooting stars is adjusted to fit each scene appropriately creating a stage with endless depth. In the last scene, with a midair performance, the starry sky extends out into the seating area and the entire theater became performance space.
