A Japanese garden, situated in the Sumpu Castle Park in Shizuoka City, is designed to create landscape with a natural-feel and pleasantly welcome both people and light. At the entrance, firelight is used to welcome and usher in guests. In the centrally located pond, lighting is focused on the surrounding trees and their shimmery, rippling reflection on the surface of the water. Inside the tea house, lighting is adjusted to create a relaxing atmosphere and increase the enjoyment of the framed landscape.
