Sachiko joined LPA in 2012 after working at a lighting manufacturer, and is now an associate at the Tokyo office. She decided to pursue lighting design while living in Norway as a teenager and witnessed how lighting is appreciated in daily life in Scandinavia. Later on, she went back to Sweden to study architectural lighting design. She enjoys interacting with clients, project teams and manufacturers, to coordinate the design work to the fullest. She graduated from the Department of Scenography, Display and Fashion Design from Musashino Art University, and holds a Master of Science from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, in Stockholm. She is an active organizing member of the Lighting Detectives children workshop, and has acted as the regional coordinator for IALD Japan from 2012-2013. Notable projects include Oita Prefectural Art Museum, Museum Shop of Tokyo National Museum, The Lalu Qingdao, Victoria Dockside, Menara Astra, ISETAN Shinjuku Store, and Takanawa Gateway Station.
