As a child, Masafumi loved to make things and found pure joy in creating. He was very stimulated by the energy of designers across various fields and the satisfaction of their work. This profound interest in the profession of design prompted him to apply to and attend a university of the arts. At university, he focused on furniture design, upcycling reused wooden materials, wildflowers, and soils, to create important bonds between familiar, but overlooked materials. Won an Award of Excellence in Graduation Production. He has been working on several train station projects which developed into a unique study and independent fieldwork of station lighting environments across Japan. Upon graduation from Musashino Art University with an undergraduate degree in Scenography, Display, and Fashion Design, he joined LPA in 2014. His notable projects include Chiba Station, Harajuku Station, Iidabashi Station, Takanawa Gateway Station, Kai Beppu, Kai Yufuin, Miraiku Nakamurabashi Nursery School.
