Mari is a senior director at LPA Tokyo Office. After joining LPA in 1994, Mari worked as chief designer on many of LPA’s most iconic projects. With a background in architecture and 28 years of experience, her designs reflect this deep knowledge base and are highly esteemed, receiving many national and international lighting design awards. Mari has worked on a range of projects, including large-scale redevelopment, public spaces, commercial facilities, and private residences. Recently, Mari is involved in a community effort to gather feedback and reflect them into a lighting design concept for the urban nightscape. Mari is also involved with firm publicity, including books, the annual report, and website design. Her efforts help publicize many of these and more of LPA’s activities. A graduate of Tokyo Metropolitan University, College of Engineering and Architecture. Mari’s many projects include Oasis 21, Kani Public Art Center, aLa, Dentsu Head Office, Hiroshima Naka Incineration Plant, Kagawa Prefecture Higashiyama Kaii Setouchi Art Museum, National Museum of Singapore, Nicolas G. Hayek Center, Gardens by the Bay, Bay South, Preservation and Restoration of the Tokyo Station Marunouchi Building, Sengukan Museum, Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund, Takanawa Gateway Station, etc. She is an associate member of IALD
