Makalin has been working as a lighting designer in Thailand, Switzerland, Japan, and Hong Kong for the past 10 years. He joined LPA Hong Kong office in 2021. Through his diverse working experiences in different countries, he has gained great understanding of design logics, and both theoretical and practical knowledge. He became interested in lighting during his internship at a lighting design studio in Paris, where he was involved in conceptualization of projects and urban lighting. He was fascinated by how light affects architecture during the day and night, and the experience led him to complete his master degree in architectural lighting design at the University of Wismar, Germany. Notable projects include the New World Hoiana Hotel and Hoiana Residences in Vietnam, the Kaitak Mansion, the Kong Ha Wai Mansion and the Commercial Building at Wing Hong Street in Hong Kong.
