Town Center of Kohoku New Town 1996

To turn the district into a comfortable and friendly area, lighting schemes of human scale without glare were devised. The symbol road is lit with a floor washer,creating a carpet of light that flows at the pedestrians’ feet and is free from any blinding glare allowing a leisurely walk along the road. Six pyramids in the plaza in front of the North Town Center Station ventilate the underground spaces and are lit up by halogen lamp floodlights at night to become a landmark.
