This hotel designed around the concept of the “beauty of Azuchi-Momoyama culture” that flourished in Osaka in the latter half of the 16th-century is the first hotel in Japan for the St. Regis luxury hotel brand of Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Light and shadow are tinged with the magnificence and splendor of Azuchi-Momoyama beauty. Interiors filled with the soft glow of understated light are the result of careful study of decorative lighting designs and techniques for incorporating light into interior elements. Everything needed to achieve comfort – the ideal brightness balance, light source selection, verifying lighting details, dimming level, etc. – were carefully considered to ensure that the effect is like “an invitation to a mansion” that defines the St. Regis brand.
