One North Masterplan 2002

The Singapore government sponsored an international urban design competition for this 194 hectare area. The competition’s winner, Zaha Hadid, proposed a streamlined cityscape of seemingly unachievable beauty. Landscape designers, lighting consultants, and other project participants struggled forward on the project, caught between the design draft’s conceptual ideal and the client’s need for a realistic approach. We put together a plan proposal envisioning the cityscape 20 years from now and embodying our “Evolving Lightscape” concept of a high-quality and flexible light environment.
