National Gallery Singapore is a new visual arts institution that oversees the largest public collection of modern art in Singapore and Southeast Asia.
Situated in the heart of the Civic District, the Gallery is housed in the City Hall and adjacent former Supreme Court building – two important heritage buildings symbolic of Singapore’s nationhood. A distinctive metal and glass canopy screen known as “the veil” integrates the two buildings at roof level, creating a civic plaza in the sky.
Exterior lighting will be entirely LED with dimmer controls and lighting inside the windows will become more prominent as the night deepens. Along with showcasing the buildings’ historical architecture, we have made every effort to create a welcoming ambience with the use of warm lighting as well as create beautiful artwork lighting using a highly efficient LED system.
