This is a research and guest facility designed under the direction of Arata Isozaki in Harima Garden Science City. The site includes several ingenious garden ideas conceived by landscape designer Peter Walker. The landscaping of the plaza at the facility entrance and courtyard employ a symbolic volcano motif.
Isozaki constantly stressed that the light environment must completely erase any trace of lighting fixtures. With this in mind, we moved forward on a detailed collaboration that completely integrates the light into the architecture and landscape design and dedicated ourselves to a lighting design that puts the focus on the architecture and landscape.
