Fukuoka, the industrial center of Kyusyu Island, is constantly growing as an international city. This is a project to revitalize the Hakata Wharf, formerly a decrepit ferry terminal, into a safe, fashionable shopping and entertainment district. Through work sessions with both client and architect, easy to maintain, was set as the main goal. Throughout, with accent lighting as our main method, we created a pleasant environment. A searchlight acts as security lighting, posted on the heights of a distant tower. “Light jelly fich” buoys below the surface of the water, create pools of light in the surrounding bay.
