Toki Messe Niigata Convention Center / Toki Messe Bandaijima Building 2003

This multipurpose facility located on Bandaijima along the Shinanogawa river hosts international exhibitions and conferences. We worked out the light design around the theme of how to present from the view of the opposite shore the corridor shared by the international conference tower dramatically piercing the sky and the international exhibition hall, which extends out horizontally. The cylinder-shaped section protruding from the roof illuminated with faint light that complements the surrounding darkness and a common passage with illuminated walls along with functional lighting achieves façade lighting that highlights the building’s beautiful horizontal lines.
