Opening of Jurong Lake GardensOct . 30 . 2024
On September 8th, the revitalized Chinese and Japanese Gardens officially opened, marking the completion of the Jurong Lake Gardens development—Singapore’s first national gardens in the heartlands.
In collaboration with NParks and Salad Dressing, the landscape designer, we crafted a lighting concept that seamlessly blends with the surrounding environment, enhancing the beauty of natural light effects. Visitors can immerse themselves in features like the Gouge, where Komorebi lighting simulates moonlight filtering through trees, and mesmerizing water reflections cast onto ceilings.
A key feature of the experience is the Moon Lantern, inspired by the Swedish concept of ‘Mangata,’ which describes the path of moonlight reflected on water. These lighting features, among others, create a tranquil and breathtaking nightscape, inviting visitors to find their own ideal spot to enjoy the gardens after dark.
