In an effort to improve the quality of scenery at night in Yanagawa City, known as a scenic riverside town, a basic plan for the nightscape along the main river boating course was formulated in 2020.
The lighting concept integrates 12 scenes along the boating course creating a picture-story show of light with quiet, gentle, and water-oriented landscape for visitors to experience the poetic world of Kitahara Hakushu, a poet associated with Yanagawa.
After several design and lighting experiments in the FY2021~2022, lighting was implemented at eight locations, providing a special river boating experience that is different from the daytime.
