The concept for this project was “presentation with a Japanese touch.” By fully exploiting the booth’s emphasis on simplicity and texture we sought to avoid the bright and uniformly white lighting that is typical of most motor show exhibits. The entire surface of the washi wall enclosing the booth radiates warm color temperature light, bathing the whole space in soft light. Spotlights painstakingly positioned amid the pleasant glow of the washi wall’s ambient light cast the contours of the cars in beautiful light, By bringing out a pleasant light and dark contrast, the lighting design adds to the booth’s unique character.
