This swimming facility operated by Tokyo Prefecture both hosts official competitions and serves as a public-use facility. The lighting design provides versatile program operated by combining ambient lighting that amply showcase the form of the Center's immense roof and variety of functional lighting for meeting the facility's diverse lighting needs.
The functional lighting needed for illuminance, color temperature, and other lighting requirements of official swim competitions is installed in a catwalk suspended directly over the pool, while the curved ceiling that serves as its backdrop radiates soft ambient lighting.
