A new Aman resort opened in the suburbs of Shanghai. Houses from the Ming and Qing age were dismantled, transported from all over China, and rebuilt as quaint villas. The lighting is used so guests can sense the history surrounding them without being too grand, but at the same time creating a comfortable warmth. Several decorative furniture lighting fixtures were also specifically designed for the project.
